Sexual health checks cover STI screening, symptom assessment and treatment, all handled confidentially by our GPs. Whether you are after a routine check, have symptoms that are concerning you, or need follow-up after a previous result, we are here to help without judgement.

Your consultation
Your GP will ask about your symptoms, if any, your sexual health history, and what testing might be appropriate. This conversation is treated the same as any other medical consultation, confidential and without judgement.
Testing might involve a urine sample, swab or blood test depending on what is being checked, and your GP will explain what is involved beforehand.
Booking an appointment
Book a standard consultation and let reception know if you would prefer to discuss the reason for your visit privately rather than over the phone, which is completely fine.

If you have been in contact with someone with a diagnosed STI, mention this at booking so your GP can test and treat appropriately.
Results and follow-up
Results are usually available within a few days, and your GP will discuss them with you at a follow-up appointment, including next steps for treatment if needed.
