Referrals and X-rays
When you need further investigation, whether that is an X-ray, ultrasound, CT scan or blood test, your GP arranges the referral during your consultation so there is no separate trip back just for paperwork. We work with trusted local imaging centres and laboratories close to Carindale.

Getting your referral
Your GP will explain why a particular test or scan is being requested and what it is looking for, then prepare the referral for you to take to your chosen provider, or send it electronically where that is available.
Some tests need to be done fasting or with specific preparation. Your GP will let you know anything you need to do beforehand.
Booking a consultation
Book a standard consultation to discuss your symptoms and whether a referral is appropriate. If you already have a referral from another doctor and just need results discussed, mention this when booking.

Results are sent directly and securely back to us, and it is important that you discuss them with your GP in person rather than trying to interpret them alone, so everything is understood in the context of your health.

Once your results come back, book a follow-up appointment so your GP can go through them with you properly, including what they mean and any next steps.
