Your appointment
Your GP will ask what you need emergency contraception for and go through the options available, including how effective each is depending on timing. The conversation is brief, practical and confidential.
If you would like to talk about a more reliable ongoing contraceptive method afterwards, your GP is happy to continue that conversation at the same visit or a follow-up appointment.
